Buy Recommendations

ASX:WDS

I remain bullish on oil and gas for 2026 and WDS is therefore the “go to” stock for investors wanting to gain exposure to this sector. Last week the company announced their full year results which met expectations and the share price has reacted by pushing above a major resistance level. I expect the shares to trend higher and retest the recent peaks near $38 during the year.

ASX:BMN

The uranium sector continues to look very promising because demand should continue to outpace supply for the next several years. BMN is developing a resource in Namibia and the company recently announced a JV with China National Nuclear Corporation. This de-risks their main resource and reduces any funding risk to get it developed. BMN therefore should have high leverage to any upside in the uranium price.

Hold Recommendations

ASX:RMS

RMS has trended higher over the past couple of years, along with the gold price. I continue to be bullish on gold and this Australian-based producer is one of the best picks in the sector. Their recent half year results showed production forecast to grow 28% over three years from FY28. They have also announced a maiden fully franked dividend of 3c per share, which is higher than consensus estimates.

ASX:SFR

SFR is Australia’s largest listed pure play copper producer. I expect copper prices to climb higher this year and this year due to increased global demand. The company’s recent half yearly result delivered an underlying NPAT of US$107m, which was above consensus. Analysts have been raising their price targets during the past week and this is seeing renewed buying interest in the stock.

Sell Recommendations

ASX:XRO

XRO is a great business but it is being caught up in a major sector rotation where funds are moving out of high P/E tech stocks and into hard assets. The downtrend in the share price indicates that the sellers are still in control and any bounces are failing to gain traction. Whilst most analysts and investors are still trying to catch the falling knife, we believe that XRO has further to fall and will only stop falling once most of the market has given up trying to pick the bottom.

ASX:CSL

CSL was a market darling for a very long time but it is now failing to command a premium as uncertainty in their US vaccine business is making it harder for investors to forecats their future earnings. The recent departure of the CEO also adds to the uncertainty. From a technical perspective, the stock has topped out and is trending lower. This means that there will be further downside risk in the CSL share price until the market can feel more comfortable that earnings will grow again.
